A1 -  International Conflict Management and European Integration amidst the New East-West Conflict. Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova – comparative international strategies

 

Key Questions

Central empirical question: What relevance does the cooperation between Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova with the EU, NATO, OSCE, and European Council have for the conflicts and the national identity forging for these states?

Central categorical question: What comprehensive frames (time/space) can be identified to systematically grasp the relevance of international cooperation to conflicts in and between nation-states?

 

Objectives

Goal 1: Empirical analysis of the relevance of deeper cooperation/ integration of Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova in/with the EU, NATO, OSCE, and European Council for the territorial/geostrategic/ethno-cultural conflicts (conflict triad) in these states

Goal 2: Development of comprehensive analytical frameworks for the significance of international integration for the conflict triad. Systematic scrutiny of previously assumed positive effects of western international integration
